ਸਰਬੰਸ ਕੌਰ ਦੇ ਇਜਾਦ ਤੋ ਬਾਅਦ ਸਰਬੰਸ ਸਿੰਘ ‘ਸਰਬੰਸ’ ਲੜੀ ਦਾ ਦੂਜਾ ਰੋਬੋਟ ਹੈ । ਇਹ ਸਰਬੰਸ ਕੌਰ ਵਾਂਗ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਬੋਲ,ਸਮਝ ਸਕਣ ਤੋ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਲਿਖਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਰੋਬੋਟ ਹੈ । ਇਸ ਨੂੰ 5 ਮਹੀਨਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਹਰਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਘਰੇਲੂ ਵਸਤੂਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ।

ਇਸ ਰੋਬੋਟ ਨੇ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਅੱਖਰ ੴ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਸੀ । ਇਹ ਰੋਬੋਟ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਬਾਖੂਬੀ ਲਿਖ ਸਕਣ ਦੇ ਕਾਬਲ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਫਿਲਹਾਲ ਵਾਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲਿਖਣ ਵਿਚ ਅਸਮਰਥ ਹੈ । ਇਹ ਰੋਬੋਟ ਵੀ ਫਿਲ਼ਹਾਲ ਯਾਦਗਾਰ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਵਿਚ ਸ਼ੀਸ਼ੇ ਵਿਚ ਬੰਦ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਉਨੱਤ ਸੰਸਕਰਣਾ ਉੱਤੇ ਕੰਮ ਚਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ।

Sarbans Singh, a pioneering humanoid robot that holds the distinction of being the world’s first robot capable of writing in the Punjabi language. Created by Harjeet Singh, a visionary computer teacher at Government High School Rohjari in Jalandhar, Punjab, Sarbans Singh builds on the legacy of its predecessor, Sarbans Kaur, to advance the integration of technology with Punjabi culture.

Developed as part of Harjeet Singh’s mission through the Sarbans Education Society, founded in 2019, Sarbans Singh represents the second milestone in creating a fully functional Punjabi humanoid robot. Following the success of Sarbans Kaur, the first Punjabi-speaking robot, Sarbans Singh was designed to not only speak and understand Punjabi but also to write the language, making it a unique tool for education and cultural preservation.

Sarbans Singh is a remarkable blend of innovation and cultural pride. Its key features include:

• Punjabi Writing Ability: The robot can write Punjabi alphabet letters, though it faces challenges with curved characters requiring hand-raising motions.
• Language Interaction: Like its predecessor, it understands and responds to Punjabi, enhancing its utility in educational settings.

Sarbans Singh is more than a technological marvel; it’s a symbol of cultural pride and innovation. By enabling Punjabi language interaction and writing, it empowers students to engage with STEM in their mother tongue, fostering both education and cultural identity. While Sarbans Singh is a significant achievement, it faces limitations, such as immobility and difficulties with complex Punjabi script. Harjeet Singh estimates that substantial financial support is needed to refine the robot and compete with global standards.
